Valuation & Transaction Disclaimer

1. What Worthtag is — and is not
Worthtag is a listing and pricing-research platform. We help people price, list, and discover secondhand items. We are not a marketplace operator, broker, escrow agent, auctioneer, appraiser, or party to any sale between users.
2. How our valuations are generated
Worthtag valuations (the "Worth", "typical price", "range", and any comparables shown) are AI-generated estimates calculated from public market data, including sold and active listings on third-party marketplaces. They are produced by automated models that may make mistakes, miss the best comparables, or weight items unevenly. Conditions, dates, regional demand, and seller reputation all affect actual sale prices in ways our model cannot fully capture.
3. Valuations are not appraisals
A Worthtag valuation is not a professional appraisal, certified valuation, insurance valuation, investment advice, tax advice, or a guarantee that the item will sell at any particular price (or at all). Do not rely on a Worthtag valuation for insurance claims, estate settlements, lending, tax filings, or any transaction where a certified appraisal is required.
4. Sellers set their own prices
Sellers list at the price they choose. The Worthtag estimate is a research tool — it is not a price floor, ceiling, or recommendation that the seller must follow. Sellers are solely responsible for the accuracy of their listing title, description, photos, condition, and price.
5. Off-platform transactions
Until Worthtag Checkout launches, payment, pickup, shipping, and delivery happen directly between buyer and seller, off-platform. Worthtag does not process, escrow, hold, or insure any funds, and we do not ship, inspect, or take possession of any item. Any payment instructions shown on a listing were supplied by the seller; we do not verify them.
6. Buyer responsibilities
Buyers are responsible for their own due diligence: inspecting the item (in person where possible), confirming condition and authenticity, agreeing on price and fulfillment terms, choosing a payment method they trust, and complying with local law. Worthtag does not vet sellers and does not guarantee the existence, ownership, condition, authenticity, or legality of any item listed.
7. Seller responsibilities
Sellers must have the right to sell the items they list, describe them accurately, honor the terms they agree with a buyer, and comply with all applicable laws (including consumer-protection, tax, export, and product-safety law). Sellers must not list counterfeit, stolen, recalled, hazardous, or otherwise prohibited items.
8. No warranties; limitation of liability
The Service, all valuations, and all comparables are provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, or non-infringement. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Worthtag (and Hoopp Technologies Inc.) is not liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, special, or exemplary damages, or for any loss arising from (a) reliance on a Worthtag valuation, (b) any transaction between users, (c) any payment sent or received off-platform, or (d) any dispute between buyer and seller. Our aggregate liability for any claim relating to the Service will not exceed the fees you paid us in the twelve months before the claim arose. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations; in those jurisdictions our liability is limited to the maximum extent permitted.
This disclaimer supplements, and is incorporated into, our Terms of Service and Privacy Policy.
