How Worthtag works

Two sides. One simple flow.

Buyers see the same comps the seller used to set the price. Sellers price against live market data instead of gut feel. Same data on both sides — that's the whole product.

For buyers

Find it. Trust it. Buy it.

  1. 01
    Browse or search

Open the market, pick a category or search what you're after. Listings load with a verdict badge already on each card — Steal, Deal, Fair or Overpriced.

  2. 02
    See the comps

Open a listing and the comps panel shows you what the exact item sold for on eBay and Depop in the last 30 days, plus today's new-retail price on Amazon, Walmart and Best Buy.

  3. 03
    Decide in seconds

The verdict is right there. No mental math, no five-tab comparison shopping, no second-guessing whether you're getting a fair number.

  4. 04
    Buy with protection

Pay through Worthtag at checkout. Funds are held until the item is marked delivered. Eligible disputes are covered by buyer protection.

For sellers

Snap it. Price it. List it.

  1. 01
    Snap the item

Take one or two photos with your phone. Worthtag identifies the brand, model and likely condition automatically — no typing required.

  2. 02
    Get a defendable price

We weight the last 30 days of sold-comps, drop outliers and adjust for your condition. You see the suggested price plus the comp spread so you know exactly why.

  3. 03
    Auto-written listing copy

Title, description, condition notes and category tags — generated and fully editable. Optional auction mode lets the market set the price with a reserve floor you control.

  4. 04
    Post anywhere

Publish to Worthtag's marketplace and reach buyers who came here because every price is proven. Or grab paste-ready cross-post copy for Facebook Marketplace, Kijiji, Craigslist, OfferUp, Mercari, eBay, and Depop.

  5. 05
    Ship, then get paid

Drop the item in the mail with the prepaid label. Once it's marked delivered, funds release to your linked account within 1–2 business days.

How we price

Real sales, not wishful thinking.

Every Worthtag price starts from real, completed transactions on the marketplaces sellers actually use. Asking prices are noise — we ignore them.

01

Pull the comps

Sold listings from eBay, Depop, Mercari, Poshmark and Facebook Marketplace for the same brand, model and condition over the last 30 days.

02

Drop the outliers

Anomalies (parts-only sales, mis-categorised items, returned listings) are filtered out before the average is calculated.

03

Adjust for condition

A Like-New iPhone shouldn't be priced like a Fair one. We re-weight comps to match the condition you actually have.

04

Cross-check new retail

The current Amazon, Walmart and Best Buy price sets a ceiling so used items don't get priced above new.

Real-time intelligence

We watch every price, so you don't have to.

FAQ

Still wondering?

The questions sellers and buyers ask most often.

  • We pull live sold-listings from eBay, Depop, Mercari, Poshmark and Facebook Marketplace, plus today's new-retail prices from Amazon, Walmart, Best Buy, Target and Costco. Comps refresh every few hours, and only sold (not asking) prices count toward the suggested value.

  • We weight the last 30 days of sold-comps for the same model and condition, drop outliers, and adjust for shipping. For categories with strong data (electronics, sneakers, designer fashion) accuracy is within ±8%. For thinner categories we show the comp spread instead of a single number so you can decide.

  • Browsing is free. Listing is free. We charge a small success fee only when an item sells — see the Pricing page for the current tier. No subscriptions, no listing fees, no surprise charges.

  • No. You can use Worthtag just for the price suggestion and the auto-written copy, then grab paste-ready cross-post copy for Facebook Marketplace, Kijiji, Craigslist, OfferUp, Mercari, eBay, or Depop. If you also list on Worthtag, you reach buyers who came here specifically because every price is proven.

  • You pick a condition (New, Like New, Excellent, Good, Fair) and we re-price the comps to match. Photos are required — buyers see the same photos we used to identify the item, so there are no surprises at handover.

  • Buyers pay through Worthtag at checkout. Funds are held until the item is marked delivered, then released to your linked account within 1–2 business days. If something goes wrong, our buyer-protection policy covers eligible disputes.

  • Yes. Toggle 'Optional auction' when you list. We set a sensible starting bid from the comp data and let you set a reserve so the item won't sell below your floor.

  • Electronics, fashion, sneakers, home goods, tools, sports gear, collectibles, books and kids' items all have rich comp data. Highly custom or one-of-a-kind items will show a wider price band — that's by design, not a bug.
